The new font is distracting and the old was perfectly fine.
As a result, we who have changed it from the default may very well have forgotten the change. Even though Amiri looks nice, it is not fun to read especially if you have to read a lot of text. |I looked into the css with dev tools, but could not see the cause or affect the display to any extent. I can't believe that a visual problem this bad was not picked up and corrected during alpha testing, never mind allowed to go live.
My usual setting, font 14, is way too small on Wikipedia, font 24 is comfortable but ridiculously large on any other site.
